                  </title>, WMR reviewed the current exhibition at the <hi rend="i">Royal Academy</hi>.  DGR wrote eleven individual notices that comprise portions of the longer articles written for <hi rend="i">The Critic</hi> by WMR.  This notice, part of WMR's 15 May review,  gives a laudatory report on <title level="pic">

                        <xref doc="a.">The Parting of Charles I. from his two youngest Children the day previous to his Execution</xref>
                     </hi>
                  </title> by the historical painter Charles Lucy (1814-1873), whom DGR knew through Ford Madox Brown.  Lucy taught at the Maddox Street Academy where Brown advised DGR to take life study lessons (see DGR's letter to his aunt Polidori, April 1848, <bibl>
