Introduction
This is a set of the first revise proofs for Signature E. The proofs carry the corrections from the first proofs , except for the correction of the transposed letters on page 49, which are marked for correction here by the printer.
Textual History: Revision
The library of the Delaware Art Museum has four sets of proofs for this signature, the first, third, and fourth numbered and date stamped by the printer Charles Whittingham, of Chiswick Press. In addition to these first revise proofs, the other sets at Delaware are: the first author's proofs (numbered 1; perfect, dated 6 April), with corrections; the second revise (numbered 3, dated 13 April, perfect); and the final revise (numbered 4, perfect, dated 22 April). The British Library also has a set of the final revise (numbered 4; perfect, dated 22 April).
