                    <p>DGR is aware of the importance of Bonaggiunta in the story of the early
                        Italian poets&#8212;hence the decision to translate a fairly substantial
                        corpus of his work, including this interesting canzone (which should be
                        compared with his translations from Dante and Cavalcanti (see e.g., <xref doc="a.1-1861.rad" from="255" to="257" workcode="10d-1861">
                            <title level="wrk">&#8220;POEM. Ladies, that have intelligence in
                                Love&#8221;</title>
                        </xref> and<xref doc="a.1-1861.rad" from="348" to="349" workcode="107d-1861">
                            <title level="wrk">&#8220;BALLATA. He perceives that his highest
                                Love is gone from him&#8221;</title>
                        </xref>). DGR also placed an epigraph from Bonaggiunta's <xref doc="a.239d-1861orig.raw">
                            <title level="wrk">&#8220;La mia amorosa mente &#8221;</title>
                        </xref> at the head of<xref doc="a.46p-1849.sa76.raw">
                            <title level="wrk">&#8220;Hand and Soul&#8221;</title>
