In fact, DGR wrote the poem as an addition to <xref doc="a.47p-1869.dukems.rad" workcode="35-1869" from="[1v]"> <title level="wrk">“The Doom of the Sirens” .

Two manuscripts survive: a corrected draft pasted inside the front cover of a copy of the 1900 edition of <hi rend="i">Lenore</hi> , and the fair copy written into DGR's manuscript of “The Doom of the Sirens” .
