Introduction

The album has a number of important DGR manuscripts, particularly early manuscripts: very early letters to his aunt Elizabeth Polidori, to his mother, and to his brother; letters to Ford Madox Brown; an early draft of the unfinished tale “St Agnes of Intercession” (here titled “St. Agnes of Recompensation”); and other important manuscripts from various periods of DGR's life.
