Introduction
Besides Ecce Ancilla Domini!, DGR executed at least four other Annunciation pictures, of which this watercolour is one. This particular work mutated into a pair of designs made for the Morris firm in 1861-1862: one a design for a stained glass window, the other a design for a pair of pulpit panels in the church at St.Martin-on-the-Hill, Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
