He made at least five drawings of her in 1862-63, <xref doc="a.s262.rap">one</xref> now in Birmingham, <xref doc="a.s263.rap">another</xref> in the National Gallery of Wales, <xref doc="a.s264.rap">a third</xref> in the Chelsea Public Library, and a <xref doc="a.sa238.raw">fourth</xref> now in a private collection. <xref doc="a.f48b.rap">Another drawing</xref>, perhaps from 1864, also exists, and yet <xref doc="a.sa245.raw">another</xref> (in the Huntington Library) seems to be a drawing of her as well. Only recently exposed is <xref doc="a.sa934.rap">a drawing</xref> known from a photographic reproduction made by Lewis Carroll, now held in the Random Center, U. of Texas.</p> <p>She was also, it seems, the model for the <xref doc="a.s162.rap"> <title level="pic"> <hi rend="i">Joan of Arc</hi> that he began in 1862 and completed in 1863.
