Introduction

DGR made eight designs in pen and brown ink as a decorative title page for a set of four chivalric stories that he and his siblings planned to write and then gather as a collection. Of these only DGR's tale Roderick and Rosalba was completed. The others were Sir Aubrey de Metford: A Romance of the Fourteenth Century, Raimond and Mathilda, and Retribution.
