Scholarly Commentary

Introduction

Although he maintained that this replica was executed almost entirely by H. Treffry Dunn, WMR asserted that the face of the woman was painted by DGR.

Production History

Additions made in this replica to the original painting include a riding whip at the feet of the farmer, and the retaining of a fence and tombstones above the wall.
