Scholarly Commentary

Introduction

Mrs. Morris is seated, facing left, with her head bent slightly down. Her hands are in her lap. The picture is a much more closely cropped version, in reverse or mirrored state, of “Jane Morris seated, half length [2]” . Another copy of the picture is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
