               <p>These designs were made for the decorative ovals on the sofa DGR designed for himself around
 1863.  The sofa, which was part of the furniture in DGR's Chelsea house, passed to the possession of Charles Fairfax Murray and thence to the Fitzwilliam Museum, where it is presently located.</p>
