Introduction
The manuscript was written on or just before 24 October 1867 as a parodic response to a letter Ford Madox Brown had written to DGR. This text differs in several lines from the version published by WMR, which he copied (and slightly edited) from the text DGR sent in a letter to Madox Brown.
