Scholarly Commentary
Introduction
The manuscript is among a cache of materials originally in the possession of WMR and after that of John Robert Wahl. They finally passed into the library of the South African National Gallery. The recto has the sonnet “Se di Bichina il cor fosse diamante” and the verso has a copy of Cecco's sonnet “Io vorrei innanzi in grazia ritornare”, which DGR never translated. His translation of Cecco's sonnet on the recto was published in The Early Italian Poets .
