Description: “A woman is posing to an artist as St. Catherine, holding a wheel entwined with roses and a palm branch. Male figures in the background with bushy hair point to drawings on a wall on to which daylight falls through bottle-glass windows set high up in blue tiled recesses” (see Surtees, A Catalogue Raisonné , vol. 1, 50).
