Introduction

This is the working cartoon copy of one of “the two censing angels designed in 1861 for [stained glass] tracery circles at Selsey, and later repeated at Lyndhurst and at St. James's, Brighouse” (Sewter 67). The original is now lost. See Censing Angel [2] (also lost) and its working cartoon.
