Scholarly Commentary

This drawing—one of the last DGR made of Miss Wilding, who had been a favorite subject since he discovered her in 1865—was unrecorded in the Rossetti literature until its sale at Sotheby's in 2008.

For further commentary on Miss Wilding see the general commentary for the 1866 drawing in coloured chalks on pale blue paper.
