Scholarly Commentary

Introduction

This is one of at least three drawings that DGR made of the PRB circle for Woolner, who had emigrated to Australia (see Fredeman, Correspondence, 53. 22 and 23). The two other drawings by DGR were William Asleep and The Fire Fiend , now only known through reproductions.
