Scholarly Commentary

Introduction

The design of this book's binding is a slightly modified version of the same design he made for the first edition of his book of translations, The Early Italian Poets (1861). DGR had clearly grown fond of the deep green cloth cover he first used in the binding design for his 1870 Poems .
